Healthy Vegan Cooking Class
The Hudson County Community College
award-winning Culinary Arts Institute, ranked number eight in the country, will
present a unique, hands-on culinary experience from noon to 4 p.m., February
22, with instructor Rene Hewitt.
Novice cooks and gourmet alike will appreciate
these cooking and baking classes. Students will learn to make indulgent,
plant-based foods and snacks perfect for occasions with family and friends. The
menu includes large stuffed Portobello mushrooms with spinach topped with
roasted heirloom cherry tomatoes and a sprinkle of cilantro (optional) or
parsley and olive oil; spinach, berries, pineapple and white cheddar cheese
salad (tofu optional); and sweet potato toast with vegan toppings.
