PWP Run and Afterparty Benefit Children’s Charities

This year’s Party With Purpose (PWP) 5K, kids’ fun run and afterparty, supporting several local children’s charities, is set for July 12 in Hoboken. The fun run will begin at 3:30 p.m., preceding a full evening of events.

One of the biggest races in Hoboken, the waterfront 5K begins at 7 p.m. and typically draws more than 500 runners. The afterparty will feature live music and a beer and wine garden where volunteers and runners can celebrate a successful night. Proceeds from the event will benefit TRUE Mentors, HOPES, MileSquare Theatre and Community Lifestyle, among other nonprofits.

PWP is a volunteer-based 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded on the concept of producing events to raise money for children’s charities and bring people together in the process. Scott Delea founded PWP in 2002 to meet the needs of local charities and a community looking to get involved after 9/11.

“We combine the best local social events with charitable causes to make a positive difference both here in our local community and abroad,” Delea says. “To date, PWP has donated $1 million and counting to help those in need through the generosity of volunteers, those attending events, and local sponsorships and donations.”
