and more celebrating the Meadowlands amazing bird population from 8:30 a.m. to
3 p.m., September 14, at the Meadowlands Environment Center. The region is a birding hotspot
where more than 285 species have been seen, including nearly three dozen on the
State Endangered, Threatened and Species of Special Concern lists.
Highlights include a keynote talk by
renowned author Sharon Stiteler, “the bird chick”, and a live raptor demonstration.
Hackensack Riverkeeper offers birding boat tours for ages 10 and up departing
from River Barge Park, 260 Outwater Lane, in Carlstadt.
