Natural Awakenings Hudson County NJ

Café Peanut Feeds Community

Café Peanut, a funky, family-owned restaurant in the heart of Journal Square, has been feeding people in more ways than one since the pandemic started, says owner Dorota Mani.

“We’re dedicated to quality and community, and we believe in equality and social responsibility,” Mani says. “We’ve been donating meals to Hudson Pride, Jersey City Medical Center, and the police and fire departments, and have been involved with Hudson County CASA and the Hunger Project.”

Café Peanut offers a selection of salads, sandwiches, soups, wraps and house-baked pastries. It’s also known for its specialty coffees and teas, such as Lavender Latte, Rose Latte, Sloppy Nutella Latte and Chai Tea Latte.

“Everything we do, we do for a reason,” Mani says. “Our food is organic and natural, our coffees are fair trade, and our hearts are dedicated to supporting our community.”

Location: 586 Newark Ave., Jersey City, NJ. To contact the café, call 201-721-6270.
